About sudden cardiac arrest and preventable sudden cardiac death in youth
To cardiac patients who are in need of support for medications and proper treatment.
Organizations, schools, and other nonprofit entities who are in the need of AEDs.
KAP for the Heart was founded in memory of Kieran Popp, who passed away from Sudden Cardiac Arrest at the young age of 23.
KAP For the Heart is dedicated to bringing awareness about the importance of heart health in youth and young adults.
I was so wrong…not in a million years would I have imagined that my only child was gone…
The Kieran Popp Memorial Scholarship is dedicated to raising awareness about undiagnosed/underdiagnosed heart conditions and Sudden Cardiac Arrest in young adults. Students who apply for the Kieran Popp Memorial Scholarship read about Kieran’s Story, which empathizes the importance of heart health. Students applying for the scholarship also write an essay about how to become proactive about their heart health and how they will give back to the community.
February is Heart Awareness Month and we host several events including The Craft Night at Corks and Crafts, an event that brings together friends of KAP for the Heart for a night of drawing, painting and crafting for the Heart. And KAP for the Heart Music Bingo, a fun-filled and fast-paced take on traditional bingo! Players are given a bingo card where traditional bingo numbers have been replaced with song names, music titles or both!
The Spring for the Heart Benefit Dinner is an annual fundraising event that benefits the Kieran Popp Memorial Scholarship. The fun for a cause night includes dinner catered by local restaurants, music, photography, door prize giveaways, silent auction, Monte Carlo and raffle prizes.
